New “atlas” demonstrates genetic influences on osteoporosis

The risk of bone fractures due to osteoporosis could be reduced, as a result of research at the Lady Davis Institute. A study has yielded an “atlas” of genetic factors associated with estimated bone mineral density, a key factor in diagnosing osteoporosis.
